it's located close to many sites in the city, good public transport connections, the staff is helpful
the noise from Gran Via was unbelievable all night long. As it was impossible to sleep we had to change hotel after the first night. If you plan to sleep during the night on weekend, this isn't a good choice. Also the room had a bad smell of smoke.

Had such great stay for two nights. Really enjoyed absolutely perfect and beautiful double room with comfortable bed, wouldn't mind staying there all day. The location was unbeatable and super, within easy walking distance of Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza.

Stayed in a Double Room for 4 nights. Room was super clean and comfy. Loved the spacious layout and the cozy bed. They had a mini fridge, a nice surprise. Perfect place to kick back after exploring the city. Really appreciated the shower pressure, made morning routines quick and refreshing! Only issue was the walls felt a bit thin, so I could hear some noise from neighboring rooms at times. That, it was a solid stay!

Staying at Hostal Lauria was a nice experience. The decor immediately caught my eye. It had a nice mix of modern and traditional styles that felt cute. My room was clean and well-maintained, something I really appreciated. I enjoyed the comfortable mattress, made it easy to unwind after a long day of exploring Madrid. The staff was really good, always eager to help with local suggestions and directions. One great touch was the complimentary coffee and tea facilities in the room. There were a few downsides. The walls were quite thin, leading to disturbances from neighboring rooms during the night. The bathroom was small. The air conditioning did not cool effectively, made the room a bit warmer than I would prefer.

great location but small room
The location is ideal easily walkable to major tourist spots. The staff were attentive and generous especially Carlos and Inna who ensured a smooth check-in. The city view from my single room was a pleasant surprise adding charm to my stay.

Small but comfortable. You do get some street noise but it's not too bad with shutters down.
There is no airconditioning even though they put a "control pad" on the wall, there is no vent in the room. I don't see the point in pretending to have a/c when they clearly do not.

How clean it was and new, comfortable bathroom.
Soundproof could be better. It was easy to hear what is happening in the coridor, but cleanness and location compensate it. :-)

The location is perfect. I love walking and I went everywhere walking. Toilet was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
Noisy... there were two ladies in the room next to mine... I heard her conversation on her mobile for two hours... calling everyone; talking loud... moving furniture... noise until 12 am.

I never ever write hotel reviews but I really wanted to come on here and write a few nice words about the Lauria. I stay in lots of budget city centre hotels and am often very underwhelmed but this place is different! It's clean, the rooms are bright and comfortable and the location is ace!!! Also this was the cheapest hotel I found byt far!! Two days later I went to a family wedding and stayed at a 5 star hotel but actually didn't like it as much. My only other comment is that the hotel is on a busy road and so I particularly asked for a room at the back of the hotel and this was peaceful and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay with the whole family at this cozy spot right on Gran Via. The kids loved the nearby cinemas, and the room was spacious with comfy beds. Inna's hospitality.
In my wife's opinion, the bathroom design could use an upgrade.
